🏫 Snowline Joint Unified School District's Nontraditional Schools

Snowline Joint Unified School District's Nontraditional Schools are dedicated to providing flexible, individualized, and supportive learning environments for every student. Recognizing that a one-size-fits-all approach doesn't work for everyone, this division encompasses three unique schools—Snowline Academy, Chaparral High School, and Eagle Summit Community Day School—each offering a distinct path designed to help learners achieve their academic and personal goals. Whether students seek a flexible, at-home learning schedule, an accelerated program to earn a high school diploma, or a structured, small-group environment focused on both academics and well-being, the Nontraditional Schools are committed to empowering students to realize their full potential.

Snowline Academy

Snowline Academy offers a comprehensive, personalized homeschool and online program for students in Transitional Kindergarten (TK) through 12th grade. This model is perfect for families seeking a flexible, at-home learning environment, allowing students to set their own pace around family activities, travel, athletics, or hobbies. Students utilize the K12 Fuel Education online program or district-adopted paper/pencil packets, all aligned with Common Core Standards, and are supported by credentialed teachers who provide curriculum, grading, and record-keeping. A unique aspect is that Snowline Academy students can still participate in extracurricular activities like sports, clubs, band, and special events at their neighborhood Snowline schools, ensuring they stay connected to the larger district community. The academy is WASC-accredited and offers A-G college preparatory courses, preparing graduates for admission to CSU and UC schools, and is also NCAA-approved.

Chaparral High School & Eagle Summit Community Day School

The Nontraditional Schools division includes two focused campus-based options for secondary students: Chaparral High School and Eagle Summit Community Day School. Chaparral High School is a highly-regarded Continuation High School for grades 9-12, recognized as a Model Continuation High School by the California State Board of Education. It focuses on providing a positive learning experience where staff inspires students to reach their potential academically, socially, and behaviorally, with a goal to promote confidence and cultivate success. Students can engage in after-school clubs and competitive sports against other continuation schools. Eagle Summit Community Day School provides a small, nurturing environment for grades 6-12, with a strong focus on both academic and emotional growth. This program is ideal for students who thrive in a structured setting with dedicated staff committed to helping them find success. Both schools are integral parts of the Nontraditional Schools community, ensuring every student has access to an education tailored to their individual needs.
